Hawaii Restaurant Association 60th Anniversary Celebration
Announces the "Chefs of Aloha ®"
HONOLULU,
HI - In commemoration of the Hawaii Restaurant
Association's (HRA) 60th Anniversary, the organization
will establish a "Hall of Fame" and induct
its first members at a special celebration on Monday,
September 17, 2007 at the Hawaii Prince Hotel.
A highlight of the evening will be a dine-around with
food stations hosted by seven distinguished Island chefs.
The 2007 "Chefs of Aloha (r)" will include:
* Sam Choy - Sam Choy's Diamond Head Restaurant, Sam
Choy's Breakfast, Lunch and Crab, and Sam Choy's Guam

Peter Merriman, Merriman's & Hula Grill Maui
*
Nawai Kekoolani, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse
*
Russell Siu, 3660 on the Rise and Kakaako Kitchen

Khamton Tanchaleun, Hawaii Prince Hotel
*
Alan Wong - Alan Wong's, The Pineapple Room, Hualalai
Grill & Alan Wong's Japan
Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. showcasing the culinary
talents of the "Chefs of Aloha(r)", and beverage
stations sponsored by Anheuser-Busch, Better Brands,
Hawaiian Springs, and Southern Wine & Spirits. And
the "Hall of Fame" program will begin at 8:00
p.m. with emcees Jo McGarry and Bobby Curran.
Tables of ten are available for $3,000 and $1,500, and
individual tickets are available at $200 each. Proceeds
from the evening will benefit culinary students through
the HRA's Scholarship Program.
